Dear Bloomfield Players Family:

For 36 years Bloomfield Players has been on a journey to provide quality productions to showcase local talent, to nurture our youth, to provide opportunities for self-expression, to build self-esteem, to cultivate strong relationships, to pursue excellence, to provide a space where families can appear together on the stage, to delight our audiences through theater and to have fun!

Our adventure began through the Bloomfield Hills School District’s Recreation Department in 1989. It wasn’t long before we became an independent nonprofit organization. We are proud of the relationships that we have formed over the years and are always excited when we see our alumni go on to make such a difference in the world.

However, over the last few years, our work has been hampered by competition for performance space, a lack of volunteers and limited resources. Therefore, it is with sadness, a great deal of soul searching and extensive discussions that the Board of Directors has decided that it is time for this journey to end.

We want to thank the Bloomfield Hills School District and the Recreation Department for all their support. But most importantly, we want to thank you, our BP family, for your dedication, commitment and friendship. We know that there are many great community theater groups throughout the area, and we look forward to seeing your talents displayed on those stages going forward.
